Zoe and Lewis's engagement!

I went to a really fun engagement party last night, it was for Nolans best friend Lewis! It was so nice, I got to meet all Nolans school friends whom he hadn't seen for years either, there was a nice buffet and we had a few drinks, in Nolans case more than a few lol! Hmm there was a theme developing when I met all of his friends... "so Nolan when are you two going to get engaged then?" Haha the pressures on now Nolan! Even your friends have noticed! Zoe's cake was so funny, it was a cheeseburger cake lol with jam dripping over the sides like relish aswell! Zoe doesn't do traditional I don't think because there was even one of those cardboard cutouts that you put your face in on the dancefloor lol! It was such a good idea, because people took more photos etc. Really didn't know what to get them as a present, as 200 people were invited we didn't just want to get vouchers or money or something like that. So we bought to glass photo frames (one saying "daddy" one saying "mummy") with poems on one side and a photo frame on the other. So we printed out a selection of photos for them aswell, Joe is so cute it was so hard narrowing it down! Had a really good night anyways, and they loved their pressie ! Chilling out today, cannot handle another night drinking, two days in a row is MORE than enough for me!

This week has flown :(

What a week! So I went to get Yasmin from North Wales on Monday and she spent the week with us here in Cardiff. I went down on a Friday and it was so nice to have my mum to myself so to speak, we just chilled out, drank wine, went out for a meal, talked, watched New Moon. Just great :) Brought Yasmin down on the train, since the petrol is so expensive by car and I have a third off all train tickets with my student card. Plus, Nolan could work an extra day then while I went and got her. The train journey is like five hours and to be honest I thought she would act up a bit since it is such a boring journey, but she was brilliant. Talked non stop, ate her own body weight in grapes and apples, played "I spy", coloured in her colouring book and the hours flew! (Her version of playing I Spy is "I spy with my little eye something beginning with green" lol) A man actually stopped me when we were getting off the train and said "has she been on the train since Holyhead, she's been such a good girl, didn't even notice her sitting behind me!" Was quite chuffed with that lol bless her, I had SO many bags to carry and she helped me by carrying her backpack and pulling her suitcase. She was so excited to see Nolan aswell, wouldn't leave his side all week! She is so funny, she knows and remembers so many things it's mad! We were listening to Lady GaGa's "bad romance" and after she sang the line "I don't wanna be friends..." Yasmin turned to me and said "Kimmi, Lady GaGa doesn't want to be friends with us no?" haha I laughed so hard! Bless her! She is coming along with her swimming so well now, she jumps in and goes under and for her it's a big thing, because she has always hated water on her hair/head etc and we went camping one night a year ago and decided to go canoeing; the boat capsised and we all fell in including Yasmin which is ironic because the only reason we went canoeing is because Yasmin whinged to do it! So think she still remembers being underwater in a freezing lake, so for her, being underwater is a big step and we were so pleased for her. She won't let us hold her now, she HAS to swim on her own in the deep end even. So we went to Toys R Us and spoiled her a bit to show her how proud we were. We bought her a few jigsaws, books, toy instruments, racing cars (she is very tomboy-ish lol) etc for her room down here because we're always buying her toys when she's here and they just go back up North with her, so she's getting new toys every month and it's only just been christmas! So these toys can stay in her room here for when she visits. Bought her some Fifi and the Flowertots trainers and some pink boots aswell :) She's going home tomorrow and I'm a bit upset because the house feels like home when she's here, it feels "lived in" if you know what I mean. I love how the house is cluttered with toys and beakers when she's here. But, I suppose I get to see my mum this weekend again, which is always good news :) Going to read my Breaking Dawn book now (for the 8th time) while daddy and Yasmin are watching Pocohantas :D

Life's too short...

Haven't blogged in ages! Wow! Really done my back in last week so wasn't too keen to sit here with a laptop on my knee putting strain on my neck! Yasmin is coming down next week, yay! I'm going down on Friday, spending the weekend with my mum, picking Yasmin up on Sunday from her mum's for a few hours, then I'm taking her home with me to Cardiff for a week. Lots planned, as usual. Spoiling her with clothes and toys, swimming, probably baking, visiting her family down here etc! Then following weekend we're taking her home and we'll have the weekend there aswell :) We're visiting Nolans mum when we're down aswell, he hasnt seen her in years for reasons I won't go into. But lets just say Nolan didn't have a nice childhood. Nolan phoned her last night for the first time in years, and we found out shes quite ill. This has put things into perspective for Nolan, they were speaking on the phone for an hour and I think patched up their differences. So she'll be seeing Yasmin her granddaughter for the first time in two years next weekend. Exciting! With my grandmother battling cancer aswell, it does kind of put things into perspective, I have always taken my nain for granted assuming she's always going to be there, but things like this jolt you right back down to earth. So now whenever I am down I visit my nain first, she is my priority. Nolan is normally quite hard faced, he is very independent and won't let anyone or anything upset him or tell him what to do. So for him to get back in touch with his mother is a big thing, but I'm glad he has done it, if (god forbid) something happened to her, he would never forgive himself if he hadn't taken the chance to make up. Hopefully, they'll keep stepping in the right direction :)
